When a driving-related offense occurs, it can affect not only your legal standing but also your personal life, employment, and future driving privileges. The Intensive Education & Counseling (IEC) Program offered by New Paradigm Counseling is designed to help you better understand the impact of your choices and develop safer, more responsible behaviors moving forward.
Rather than focusing solely on penalties, the IEC program emphasizes education, accountability, and long-term behavior change. It provides knowledge and tools needed to prevent future violations and build healthier decision-making habits.
A program designed for change. Turning challenges into opportunities.

What is the IEC Program?
The Intensive Education & Counseling (IEC) Program is an educational and counseling program often required for individuals dealing with DUI-related violations or interlock compliance requirements.
The program helps participants understand:
- The risks and consequences of impaired driving
- How alcohol and substances affect judgment, reaction time, and decision-making
- Strategies for preventing future violations
- Personal responsibility and safer behavioral choices
By combining education and counseling, the IEC program provides participants with practical tools that can support long-term change
How the Program Works
The IEC program is structured to be manageable and effective, allowing participants to complete their requirements while maintaining work and family responsibilities.
Participants complete a total of 10 hours of programming over approximately five months, which includes:
Individual Counseling Sessions
- Four (4) individual sessions
- Each session lasts approximately 30 minutes
Group Education Sessions
- Four (4) group sessions
- Each session lasts approximately 2 hours
This combination allows participants to benefit from personalized support and shared learning experiences.
Benefits of the IEC Program
Completing the IEC program provides more than just meeting a requirement—it offers an opportunity for growth and positive change.
Participants gain:
✔ Education and awareness about impaired driving risks
✔ Personal insight into decision-making patterns
